Oxysolv really saved me on rust prevention. You spray it on bare, clean metal and keep it wet for about 10-20 minutes until it turns uniformly gray like the door jam in the picture to the right.
You can delay painting for weeks after treatment with this product. I was really having a tough time keeping rust from coming back on recently sandblasted metal.
